Even my TWC 30/5M connection really can only do so-so transcoding. If you want to stream HD out through your cheap ISP, it's not likely going to happen.
You also need to check your ISP's upload speed. And the only big kid filter would be the parental setup of which I haven't messed with yet (will be soon and have been looking deeper into this, but that seems the only solution which isn't a great one but.). To stream it outside your network, that's where PLEX comes in.

I would appreciate a solution for this, ive tried many things from a clean install (deleted app data and even HKEYS for plex in the registry) then i tried re-installing it but the problem. Other gotcha, if you want to do stuff within your network, XBMC is all you really need. this is a screen shot of the plex media server showing up in the task manager as a running process, but however the actual media server doesnt show up. Videos need to be in the acceptable formats of which there are many, but no. Still need to work on forced subtitles but other then that they play well. It was made from XBMC which alone still has a few issues but other things are fixed. The Plex Mecia Server app is in the Apps section of the Shield under System Apps snd needs to be updated manually. When the grayed out 'Server is starting' message disappears from that menu, the server's up and running. When you open it, the only indication you'll see that it's running is a tiny Plex chevron icon on the right side of your menubar at the top of your screen. When you first set up your Shield with your TV and update all apps automatically, unfortunately, it does not update the Plex Media Server app. Move the resulting Plex Media Server app into your Applications folder. PLEX is nice, I use it on my 36TB server, but there are a lot of limitations. The Plex Media app and the Plex Media Server app are two separate apps.
